what is IAPS ?

The International Association of Physics Students, IAPS, is a non-government and non-profit international organization run by physics students (both under- and postgraduate) from all over the World. The main purpose of our organization is to encourage physics students to advance their scientific and professional work within an international context, as well as to promote collaboration between physics students. Currently IAPS consists of 14 national and 15 local committees representing students from 25 countries in total.

img02IAPS is run by very willing and dedicated students from all over the world. Except for the elected officers, all students and people are warmly welcome. Especially those who are willing to volunteer their time, to champion the course of IAPS in becoming a concrete and formidable organization that will address the concerns and needs of young physicists across the World.

Through its existence, IAPS has been accumulating a number of affiliations with several international organizations. These include the European Physical Society (EPS), Institute of Physics (IOP), European Education Network (EUPEN), American Institute of Physics (AIP) and The International Association for the Exchange of Students for Technical Experience (IAESTE). IAPS is still pursuing collaborative partnership efforts with other organizations and the General Meeting welcomes all organizations that are willing to affiliate with us to have a positive impact in the global scientific community.

IAPS members meet every year at the International Conference for Physics Students which is therefore the biggest event of IAPS. Usually the number of participants ranges between 300-400 . The ICPS is organized each year in a different country.

IAPS is officially registered in Mulhouse, France and has its permanent office with European Physical Society.
